The professional Photographer Luis Ocana, who specializes in the pilgrimages in Spain, visited the Kumano area for three days starting May 12th to capture images of the Japanese World Heritage pilgrimage route, Kumano Kodo.
This is the 10th anniversary of a friendship agreement between Wakayama Prefecture and Galicia Province in Spain. In celebration, a special photo exhibition is being planned. The concept of this exhibition is having a photographer from Spain photograph the Japanese Pilgrimage route, and a Japanese photographer capture images in Spain.
The photos will be displayed in France, Tokyo, Spain and Tanabe City.
The Tanabe City Kumano Tourism Bureau supported Luis Ocana during his visit.
