On March 18, in Santiago de Compostela City (Spain) a ceremony was held for the victims and those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan.
There was a one minute of silence in the Obradoiro Square in front of the Santiago de Compostela cathedral.
Those in attendance were the mayor, other members of the local government, staff of the Turismo de Santiago de Compostela, students from a local school, as well as other community members.
They expressed their sympathies and condolences in this respectful ceremony.
The Kumano Kodo and the Way of St. James are the only two world heritage registered pilgrimage routes and share a special spiritual bond.
Thank you very much for all who attended, the warm heartfelt gesture was appreciated greatly by all those in Japan.
