For four days starting from September 2, a Journalist from the Spanish Newspaper El Mundo visited the Kumano region for a press tour.
The Kumano Kodo and Way of St. James are the only two pilgrimage routes registered as UNESCO World Heritage.
The Kumano Kodo has become very popular with not only the Spanish but also many European countries including France, Germany, and England.
This press tour was a joint venture by the Tanabe City Kumano Tourism Bureau and the Wakayama Prefecture government. JNTO also helped organize this tour.
