Bijin-tei inn is a labour of love. The facility overlooks the Hidaka-gawa river and is family owned and run. The name "Bijin" means "beautiful women" and derives from the hot spring water, which is famous for its beautifying effects. The friendly owner loves rivers and often serves the fish he catches from them including Amago, a species of salmon, which live in the colder upper tributaries. For alcohol lovers a must try is the specialty of the inn, grilled Amago in Sake, the taste of the mountains, with a rich aroma. Local ingredients are used in dishes, and the hot spring bath is lined with river stones, meticulously handpicked by the owners.
