Global Eco Ministerial Round Table
On October 16, in coordination with the 20thGlobal Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference in Cairns, Australia, a ministerial round table discussion was held.
Tourism leaders from the Asia Pacific gathered to discuss the place of ecotourism in the Asia-Pacific and how Queensland can build tourism linkages; collaborate on expertise; and provide consultancy, education and training services across tourism and protected area management.
Brad Towle, International Tourism Promotion and Development Director for the Tanabe City Kumano Tourism Bureau, was the representative from Japan.
The Asia-Pacific is one of the regions in the world with exponential tourism growth potential, with the challenge of preserving its diverse cultural, natural and spiritual integrity. With broad sharing and collaborating this region has the potential to be the leaders in a sustainable, ecotourism based tourism world.
