Takata Green Land (Kumotori Onsen) has joined the Kumano Travel community!

Takata Green Land is an accommodation and onsen facility in a small community tucked into the lush mountains on the beautiful Takata river. It is about 30 minutes by free shuttle bus from Shingu or Koguchi, making this a good option for those walking the Kogumotori-goe and Ogumotori-goe sections of the Kumano Kodo.  There are three buildings, the main building has western guestrooms and hot spring baths; the annex has Japanese style guestrooms; and the original building houses the dining room.  The stone outdoor hot spring baths (Kumotori Onsen) and fresh, Japanese cuisine are highlights of a stay at Takata Green Land.

Organic Farm House Tomaryannse has joined the Kumano Travel community!

Tomariyanse is a charming, traditional country house in the village of Asuka, near the Kintetsu Asuka train station. This "Cozy House" was renovated into an accommodation after a series of chance encounters, from the original owners and the Era family, to Eileen, who currently runs the guesthouse.  Eileen is a welcoming hostess, and passionate about organic foods, and rural living.  The house itself is traditionally built featuring a lofty entrance with thick wooden beams darkened with age. The two Japanese style guestrooms (Oyuma and Tiger screen) are divided by elegantly painted fusuma sliding doors.  The bath and toilet are located to the rear of the main building.  The meals are lovingly made with local, fresh ingredients, sourcing (or growing their own) organic ingredients whenever possible. Tomariyanse is a perfect base to enjoy a classic Japanese home and explore the historic village of Asuka.

The mouthwatering homemade meals are based on their own organic vegetables and game meat from hunting. The house is two stories, with a large loft-like area for guests to sleep.  A feature window offers views of the distant mountains is also popular with guests.
